Members of the public are invited to take part in the activities planned for Fisherfolk Week, being hosted by the Barbados National Union of Fisherfolk Organisations (BARNUFO).

Tomorrow, Friday, June 28, the Small Island Future Fest, featuring a Lion Fish Fillet competition, will take place at the Pelican Village Craft Centre, Bridgetown, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

On Saturday, June 29, the Bridgetown Fisherfolk Day activities will begin with an opening ceremony at 3:00 p.m., at the Bridgetown Public market. 

The activities will include line dancing, the Library Service Old History launch and karaoke. There will also be music and games, and food and drink will be on sale.

The Weston Fisherfolk Association will also host a Fun Day at the Weston Fish Market, Weston, St. James, on Saturday, June 29. 

It will feature spear fishing at 8:00 a.m.; road tennis at 10:00 a.m.; boat racing at 1:00 p.m.; net throwing at 2:00 p.m.; hook-a-fish at 3:00 p.m. and karaoke at 6:00 p.m.

The following day, Sunday, June 30, there will be a customer appreciation day at Consett Bay Fish Market under the theme: Managing Our Environment for a Sustainable Future.  It will begin at 10:00 a.m.
