A number of events are scheduled to take place across Barbados over the next few weeks to mark the Month of the Disabled.

On Sunday, March 20, the National Disabilities Unit (NDU), in collaboration with Special Envoy for Persons with Disabilities, Roslyn Hurley, will host a Fun Ride/ Walk, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

?????????????????? ??The event will begin at Independence Square in the City, and travel along Lower Fairchild Street, Bridge Street, Wharf Road, Hincks Street, Princess Alice Highway, Prescod Boulevard, University Row, Spring Garden, and then left onto Brighton Road before culminating at Brandons Beach.

Members of the disabled community and any other interested persons, are asked to assemble at the starting point by 3:30 p.m.

The celebrations will continue on Saturday, March 26, with an "Old Time Bajan Picnic", organised by the NDU and the Special Envoy. Buses will leave the Fairchild Street and Princess Alice Bus terminals, at 9:00 a.m., and transport picnickers to the King George V Memorial Park, St. Philip.

These activities seek to provide an opportunity for Persons with Disabilities, their family and friends, to enjoy the outdoors and participate in some exercise.
