For the next two Saturdays, taxpayers will have additional locations where they can receive free tax filing assistance, as the Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) adds Tax Filing Pop-ups at select Community Resource Centres.

Manager, Communications and Public Relations at the BRA, Carolyn Williams-Gayle, outlined the locations where taxpayers can get filing assistance.

“We will continue to open our customer service offices at the Treasury Building and the Holetown Public Complex from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In addition to those locations, there will be two-hour pop-up clinics this Saturday, April 14, at the resource centres in Rices, St. Philip, and Deacons, St. Michael, starting at 3:00 p.m. While the final pop-up clinics will be held at the resource centres in Briar Hall, Christ Church, and Speightstown, St. Peter, on Saturday, April 21, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.,” Williams-Gayle said.

“There are persons who have filing queries, or who may need clarification on an area, but don’t get the chance to visit our offices during the week.  We understand that and we are encouraging them to take advantage of the tax clinics being offered on Saturdays,” she added.

Mrs. Williams-Gayle also explained that the tax clinics provide an excellent opportunity to educate taxpayers.

“These clinics are part of our overall outreach initiatives which help to facilitate compliance.  As we continue our efforts to become a more customer-focused organisation, these clinics give us another avenue to engage directly with taxpayers and help them to better understand their obligations,” she stated.
