The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS) has advised that during the “national pause”, its main office at Graeme Hall, Christ Church, will be operational from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a focus on providing essential services.

As a result, persons who wish to utilise the Agricultural Services Unit should call 535-5177, 535-5106, or 535-5179, or email services@agriculture.gov.bb.

To access the Accounts Section persons are advised to call 535-5162, 535-5163, or 535-6212, or email accounts@agriculture.gov.bb

Additionally, to access the services of the Pesticides Unit, persons may call 535-5122 or 535-5239, or email goxley@agriculture.gov.bb, or  pesticides@agriculture.gov.bb.

The Ministry has also advised that its veterinary and plant quarantine services will be available at all times throughout the period based on demand for these services. 

Persons with queries related to veterinary quarantine services should call 535-0220 or 535-0221, while those related to plant quarantine services should be directed to 535-6600 or 535-6603.

Meanwhile, farmers with ID cards issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security do not need to apply for the Emergency Pass to operate within the curfew period.

Farms will be allowed to operate between 6.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m., while abattoirs, hatcheries and poultry processors will open from 7.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. All markets shall remain closed.
