One hundred primary school students will get the opportunity to hear stories about African traditions during the National Library Service’s Africa Day Story Hour.

The event entitled: Under the Casuarina Trees takes place tomorrow, Wednesday, May 25, at the Farley Hill National Park, St. Peter starting at 10:00 a.m.

Students from All Saints and Roland Edwards, in the same parish and Wilkie Cumberbatch and St. Mary’s in St. Michael will learn more about Africa as told to them by the Dean, Faculty of Culture, Creative and Performing Arts, Dr. David Akombo.  

The story-telling session is one of the activities during the Season of Emancipation to mark Africa Day, observed annually in various countries on the African continent to commemorate the foundation of the Organisation of African Unity on May 25, 1963.

Later in the day, starting at 6:00 p.m., will be the Roots Experience Fashion Show at Golden Square Freedom Park, the City.

The Season of Emancipation runs from April 14 to Wednesday August 31.
