Argentina and Barbados are looking forward to collaborating in various areas.

This was made clear following a courtesy call between the Ambassador of Argentina, Diego Limeres and Attorney General, Adriel Brathwaite this morning, at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Mr. Brathwaite noted that there were many areas where ???we can learn from your systems…like prison reform, which I am paying particular attention to???. He added that decreasing the recidivism rate in the country was also on his priority list.

The Attorney General noted that there was a keen interest in establishing Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), with Ambassador Limeres mentioning that his country had successfully introduced ADR as a means of creating a more efficient judicial system.

The Ambassador also explained that his country previously had an embassy in Barbados from 1987 to 1991 and said that he was looking forward to reestablishing one here. He observed that while there is an Argentinian Embassy in Trinidad, having a presence in Barbados would help facilitate his country???s work, both here and throughout the region.
