Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite has, once again, reminded Barbadians that they must shoulder some of the responsibility for their personal safety and the security of their properties.
Noting that a recent burglary study had indicated that while overall crime statistics were down, there were increases in burglaries and offences against persons.
At the same time, he said the study also showed that persons, by their own actions, contributed to some burglaries by leaving windows and doors of their cars and homes open.
???There are things that we can do to make the place more secure. That includes things like paying attention to the type of windows installed and ensuring that doors are secured even when at home,??? he stressed.
He added that these precautions should also extend to business owners who also need to take measures to protect their investments.
