Students of St. Gabriel’s School who were on a tour of Exclusive Cottons of the Caribbean Inc. at Groves, St. George, received a visit from Minister of Agriculture, Senator Haynesley Benn, earlier today.

Minister Benn expressed his delight to be among the young people, noting that the future of Barbados, and agriculture depended on their involvement. He told the students that he has had a long relationship with agriculture, particularly cotton, and maintained that it was very important to the economic development of the country.

The Agriculture Minister stated: "We are seeing cotton as an excellent source of income and foreign exchange. I am happy to see where it has come from and where it is today."

During the tour, the students were told about the life of cotton, from the field to export. sharifa.medford@barbados.gov.bb
