World Food Day will be celebrated on Friday, October 16, under the theme: Grow, Nourish, Sustain. Together. Our Actions Are Our Future. 

However, in observance of the Day, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, in collaboration with The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), will donate ground provisions and fruit to two organisations, the Barbados Vagrants and Homeless Society and Street Lamp Ministries, tomorrow, Wednesday, October 14.

The handover will take place at the Animal Nutrition Unit, The Pine East-West Boulevard, St. Michael, at 10:00 a.m. 

Permanent Secretary in the Agriculture Ministry, Terry Bascombe; and Chief Agricultural Officer (Ag), Dr. Beverley Wood; will be in attendance.

The FAO will be represented by Field Programme and Monitoring Officer, Anthony Kellman; and Communications Specialist, Marquita Sugrim.
