Tickets are now available for Agrofest 2013 which will take place in Queen’s Park, The City, from February 22 – 24.

??The event, which is touted as Barbados’ largest exhibition with over 300 exhibitors, will open on Friday, February 22 to schools only between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Later that day, it will be open to the general public from 4:00 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. Patrons will be treated to local entertainment from 9:30 p.m. during the Banks Beer Reggae in the Park Concert. It will feature Strategy The Band and Kirk Brown; David Bourne and Plan D; Indrani; Paul Lavine; Fantom Dundeal; and LRG.

On Saturday, February 23, the gates will open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and calypso will be the music of choice with the Best of Crop Over 2012 show beginning at 7:30 p.m. Artistes will include Soca Kartel featuring Blood and Mikey; Dutty Android; reigning Calypso Monarch Red Plastic Bag; Hypasounds; MarZ; Yannik Hooper; and Salt.

During the last day of Agrofest, Sunday, February 24, the opening hours will be 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. There will be an Evening of Gospel featuring Word Alive Dancers and Worship Team; J & T Music Ministry; Kriss-Ann Weekes-Hudson; Neesha Woods and Psalmist Jamel, starting at 6:15 p.m.

In addition to the usual exhibits, there will be a bigger Kids Area this year on Weymouth ???B’. There will also be lots of rides and activities for children including a renewable energy theme park and exhibits.

A limited number of persons will get to enjoy a five-course dinner dubbed Dinner Under the Stars on February 22 at 7:30 p.m., in the Park under the Dining Club’s tent. Tickets are available at the Barbados Agricultural Society, The Grotto, Beckles Road, St. Michael. Other attractions include Livestock Shows/Judging, a Plantation Breakfast on February 24, an Agility Dog Show, a Bird Show and a Goats Show.

Persons are reminded that no smoking is permitted in Queen’s Park during the exhibition.
