The National Commission for Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases (NCCNCDs) of the Ministry of Health recently rewarded three persons who participated in a salt usage survey conducted at Agrofest, last month.

Lindley Reid,??Sonia Nurse and??Muriel Griffith emerged winners of three healthy, low-salt hampers, donated by Super Centre Limited.

The Commission’s Project Manager, Sheena Warner explained that the Commission took the opportunity to interview some of the patrons who attended the agricultural exhibition held in Queen’s Park from February 25-27.??

The survey was designed by Commission member, Dr. Alafia Samuels, who was assisted by the Barbados Boys’ Scouts in conducting the survey.?? The Scouts operated from the Government Information Service tent and created and displayed a number of posters depicting the event’s theme – Achieving Healthy Lifestyles Through Agriculture.

Marketing Manager of Super Centre Limited, Karen Alleyne and John King of the Barbados Boys Scouts were also on hand for the handing-over ceremony at the Ministry of Health.??

The results of the survey will be made public shortly.??
