Alexandra School students Anas Vanzaria and Melinda St. Hill are the winners in this year’s National Letter Writing Competition, organised by the Barbados Postal Service (BPS).

They received their prizes at morning assembly in the school hall last Friday.  The United States Embassy supported the post office in this effort to develop the composition skills of Barbadian school children, by providing books to the winners. Trophies and gift certificates were supplied by the BPS.

Deputy Chief of Mission Dr. Brent Hardt made the presentation on behalf of the Embassy and Postal Accountant Lorna Edwards, an Alexandra old scholar, represented the BPS.

The presentation was witnessed by the two students’ peers, their Principal Jeff Broomes, former student Juanita Lynch, an employee of the Embassy and BPS Marketing Officer Joann Busby. (TA)
