Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Barbados, Wellington Darío Bencosme Castaños, today paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, at Ilaro Court, Two Mile Hill, St. Michael.

During the courtesy call, Prime Minister Mottley discussed several matters with non-resident Ambassador Castaños, including mutually working to tackle climate change and the Sargassum seaweed influx, addressing food security, and creating greater linkages as it relates to languages.

Earlier, the Ambassador presented his Letters of Credence to Her Excellency the Most Honourable Dame Sandra Mason, accrediting him as non-resident Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Barbados.

This presentation of Letters of Credence and the courtesy call come as Barbados and the Dominican Republic mark 50 years of bilateral diplomatic ties.
