An 85-year-old Barbadian woman died of COVID-19 on Sunday, October 3, in the Accident and Emergency (A&E) Department of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

She was tested on arrival at A&E and her test result returned positive for COVID-19 on Monday, October 4. She had co-morbidities and was unvaccinated. Her death brings the number of casualties from the virus to 82.

Minister of Health and Wellness, Lieutenant Colonel, Jeffrey Bostic, extends his sincere condolences to the loved ones of the deceased.
