Barbadians will be paying slightly more for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in the next few days.

Effective midnight, Sunday, January 10, the retail price of LPG will be increased in keeping with the imported prices of petroleum products.?? As a consequence, the 100-pound cylinder will now be retailed at $154.30 – an increase of $6.31.?? The 25-pound cylinder will now cost $41.16, up by $1.57 while the 20-pound cylinder will now be retailed at $32.93, an increase of $1.26.

Government has a mechanism in place to adjust petroleum prices, where they will be adjusted monthly by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Empowerment, Innovation, Trade, Industry and Commerce on the advice of the Division of Energy.

This mechanism is now in use and price changes will be more frequent (i.e up or down) in accordance with the landed cost of petroleum products. jwilson@barbados.gov.bb
