Members of the public will learn about the Common Disease Problems in Barbados when the Urban Development Commission (UDC) hosts another garden workshop on Saturday, May 28.

Senior Agricultural Officer of Plant Protection, Michael James, will make the presentation, which will be held at the UDC, Bridge Street Mall, Bridgetown, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Those interested in attending the workshop should call Sia Edwards at the UDC at 417-1420, by Wednesday, May 25.??This is one in a series of workshops which will be held by the UDC during the year for those persons participating in its 2016 Garden Beautification Competition.

Those persons who have applied for assistance from the UDC can participate in the competition, which will run until Friday, November 18, and has as its theme: Greening, Growing for all Generations.??Clients should collect registration forms from the UDC???s office at Bridge Street Mall, or download them from the website www.udc.gov.bb.

The winner of the competition will receive a water tank installation and irrigation system, which will be installed by students of the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic. The second prize winner will be given two gardening vouchers from Carter???s General Stores and H & B Hardware, while the third prize winner will be awarded a garden hamper sponsored by EZ Pave.
