The deadline for the submission of entries for the Division of Youth Affairs’ Anti-Violence Competition (AVC) has been extended until Wednesday, September 30.

As part of the Division of Youth Affairs’ 50 Days of Activism for Youth (DAY) Campaign, to acknowledge International Day of Peace, September 21, persons under the age of 30 were encouraged to participate in the Division’s AVC competition to develop posters/jingles/videos to be used in the campaign.

The theme of this year’s celebrations is: Shaping Peace Together.

Persons under the age of 30 are encouraged to participate in the competition by submitting anti-violence messages in posters, jingles, animations, PSAs, videography or any other suitable medium, that helps to emphasise ‘violence rewards no one’.

Entries from the competition will be used to inform the public and to encourage and promote change behaviours, as they will be disseminated on suitable platforms, particularly social media, over the course of the next six months.

Interested persons who wish to submit entries may do so, to Principal Youth Development Officer, John Hollingsworth, Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Sky Mall, Haggatt Hall, St. Michael.  For further information, persons may call 535-3860.
