As the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development prepares to commemorate 50 years of universal, free, public education with a variety of events in the new school year, it is issuing an appeal for old photographs.

The photographs may include students in uniform, old school buildings, teachers/educators, or any educational activity.

The Ministry, as part of its planned celebrations, will mount a photographic exhibition, depicting education throughout the period 1962 to 2012, utilising photos from its own archives as well as members of the public who would have benefited from the education system.

Persons with hard copies of photographs should bring these to the Ministry’s Headquarters, Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road, St. Michael, where they will be scanned by the Media Resource Department and returned.

Digital photographs with captions and contact information should be emailed to education@mes.gov.bb or uploaded to www.facebook.com/EducationCelebrations.

Persons will be credited for their submissions.

Photographs must reach the Ministry by Friday, August 31.
