Barbadian nationals and residents may now apply for three summer 2022 internship posts with global resource company and offshore licensee, BHP.           

The Ministry of Energy and Business Development has advised that persons may apply online for: Exploration Prospect Maturation Geoscience Intern – Barbados Project; Exploration Prospect Maturation Reservoir Engineering Intern – Gulf of Mexico; and Exploration Appraisal Geoscience Intern – Calypso Project.

Interested persons must apply online using the corresponding links below, and the applications must be submitted by Saturday, April 30. The internships and links are as follows:

BHP’s six-week Internship Programme will commence on July 1, and end on August 12. The highlights of the programme include the interns being assigned a mentor, receiving team support and feedback on work-related matters, and being exposed to presentations and interactions with internal and external stakeholders.

BHP operates offshore oil and gas licences throughout the world, including Australia, Canada, Egypt, the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean.

In the Caribbean, BHP currently has production in the shallow water Angostura area, and ongoing appraisal in Magellan and Calypso deep water areas (all located in Trinidad and Tobago), where the company has had hydrocarbon discoveries in recent years.
