The Tertiary Section of the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training has advised that suitably qualified persons may now apply for the 2019 Mexican Government Scholarships.

The types of scholarships and their maximum duration are as follows: Graduate and undergraduate mobility programmes for a period of one academic term – trimester, quarter or semester; Graduate-level research and postdoctoral fellowships for 12 months (one month minimum); Specialisations – one year; Master’s degree, two years; Doctoral degrees, three or four years; and medical specialisations and sub-specialisations, three years.

Applicants must be citizens of Barbados, and all scholarships awarded will commence from March 1, 2019.

Scholarships are not granted for direct PhD programmes (combined MA and PhD programmes), distance learning programmes, open or online education. The maximum length of the programme will not be extended.

The following academic programmes are not eligible for scholarships: Business Administration, Plastic Surgery, Accounting, Marketing, Advertising, Dentistry and Odontology, as well as related fields.
