Barbadian citizens between the ages of 18 and 40 who have been accepted to an internationally accredited university at the undergraduate or postgraduate level, are invited to apply for this year’s National Development Scholarships.

The scholarships, which are being offered by the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training, will be awarded in a number of areas.

At both the postgraduate and undergraduate levels, individuals can pursue studies in Arson Investigation – Loss Mitigation; Art Therapy; Child Mental Health Psychology; Electrical Engineering; Geoinformatics/Geographic Information Systems (GIS); and Mechanics/Mechanical Engineering.

The following subject areas are being offered at the postgraduate level only: Cyber Security; Data Analytics; Digital/Transformational/Innovation Technology; Forensic Nursing; Green/Blue Technology; Law (Financial) Regulation, Enforcement of Regulatory Laws and Corporate Governance; Law (Intellectual Property); Neurology; Special Needs Education; and Veterinarian Science.

Those subjects that are being offered at the undergraduate level only are: Automotive and Autotronics Engineering – Maintenance of Vehicles, Electric Vehicles (EVs); Drug Rehabilitative Therapy; and Therapeutic Radiology.

Interested persons are reminded that programmes offered at campuses of the University of the West Indies will not be considered.

Successful applicants will be required to enter a bond with two sureties to return and work in Barbados on completion of the course, on the basis of one year for each year of the award.

Application forms and further information may be obtained from the Tertiary Section of the Ministry of Education, Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road, St. Michael.

Completed applications must be submitted no later than Friday, June 21, 2019. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
