Students and staff of the Westbury Primary School will get to learn more about Africa and the work of the Archives Department when representatives from the department visit the school tomorrow, Tuesday, March 10.

Chief Archivist, Ingrid Thompson, said the event will celebrate African awareness, and will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Historian Trevor Marshall will make a presentation on Africa before the slave trade and African retentions, while Natasha Bynoe will speak about the Congo region.

There will also be some focus on the Schools’ Genealogy Project, which is currently ongoing, and the work of the department.
