Strengthening food security, the teaching of Spanish as a second language and the further development of small and medium-sized industries will come into sharp focus next week when Barbados hosts the Argentine-Caribbean Regional Cooperation Workshop.

The workshop will be held from Tuesday, April 24 to Wednesday, April 25, at the Accra Beach Hotel and Spa, Rockley, Christ Church, starting at 9:00 a.m. each day.  Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Maxine McClean will deliver remarks and sign a Technical Cooperation Agreement with Argentina on behalf of the Government of Barbados.

It is anticipated that regional participants will engage their Argentine counterparts with a view to identifying potential areas of cooperation resulting in the implementation of the initiatives identified.

The workshop is expected to attract participants from Antigua and Barbuda; Dominica; Grenada; Jamaica; St. Lucia; St. Kitts and Nevis; St. Vincent and the Grenadines; and Trinidad and Tobago.
