As part of the activities to mark Education Month, The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation will hold a two-day workshop on Attitudinal Change for teachers.

The sessions will be held at Erdiston Teachers’ Training College from Wednesday, October 11 to Thursday, October 12 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. each day.

A key aim of the workshop is to encourage school leaders to drive the change necessary for ensuring teacher effectiveness. Essentially, the Ministry is hoping to build and/or transform attitudes of primary school principals to lead the change process related to implementing the School Teacher Effectiveness Plans (STEPs) at the eight project schools as well others in the future.

Facilitator for the change workshop is Administration Manager with the Barbados Water Authority, Tyrone Applewhaite.

The eight primary schools under the pilot project are: A. DaCosta Edwards; Belmont; Boscobel; St. Elizabeth; St. Martin Mangrove; St. Philip; Wesley Hall Junior and Wilkie Cumberbatch.
