Barbadian singers, dancers and actors are invited to audition for the island’s 50th Anniversary of Independence musical theatre production Mirror, Mirror, Show Me a Hero!

The commemorative play, which is being produced by the 50th Anniversary of Independence Celebrations Secretariat and the National Cultural Foundation (NCF), seeks to examine the core themes of Independence and Heroes in a 21st century context.

Auditions take place on Wednesday, August 31, at the Queen’s Park Steel Shed, between 5:00 and 9:00 p.m.

Interested performers are required to prepare a one-minute monologue or song of their choice, and must be prepared to read from a script. All prospective performers must be able to act, dance and sing, and stage combat skills would be an asset. Artistes must also bring a biography and headshot for the NCF’s records.

Successful candidates will be contacted on Thursday, September 1, between 5:00 and 9:00 p.m., and rehearsals for the production are scheduled to commence on Monday, September 5.

For more information, interested persons may contact Alison Sealy-Smith at 417-6651, or via email at alison-sealy-smith@ncf.bb; or Rashida Dixon at 417- 6644, or at rashida-dixon@ncf.bb.
