Australia has now been added to the list of countries represented by an Honorary Consul in Barbados.?? In an official ceremony this morning Chief of Protocol, Hughland Allman, presented an exequatur to Stuart James Gardiner at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Culloden Road, St. Michael.

The legal document will permit Mr. Gardiner to commence his duties as Honorary Consul, thus strengthening the existing ties between the two countries.??

The Honorary Consul for Australia, who has been residing in the island for the past 16 years, said he looked forward to serving as his country’s representative in Barbados.

The Australian Consulate will be located on the 2nd Floor, Cedar Court, Wildey Business Park, Wildey, St. Michael and may be contacted at telephone number 434-1121.

Barbados and Australia established diplomatic ties in January 1974.
