Educational institutions interested in understanding the process of registration required by the Barbados Accreditation Council (BAC) have been urged to attend the next Registration Workshop to be held on Friday, March 25.

It will take place in the Conference Room, Media Resource Department of the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road, St. Michael.

The seminar, which targets educational providers offering post-secondary/tertiary education and training here in Barbados, particularly those not yet registered with the Council, will run from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Executive Director of the BAC, Valda Alleyne, will address the opening of the workshop.

A key objective of the seminar will be to provide information on the registration processes and procedures to post-secondary/tertiary level educational providers and institutions as well as the general public.?? However, facilitators will also offer assistance with actual registration and in writing the Evaluative Report.

Registration is the first form of recognition by the BAC. This acknowledgement is important as it certifies that an educational provider meets or exceeds best practice standards. In addition, it is essential for institutions desirous of seeking accreditation with the BAC.

Interested persons may register for the workshop by contacting the BAC at (246) 436-9094 or via email at info@bac.gov.bb. They can also visit the Secretariat at #123 A&B, "Plaza Centrale", Roebuck Street, St. Michael, BB11080.

Additional information on registration services provided by the BAC, may be obtained by logging on to the BAC’s website http://www.bac.gov.bb/ and downloading the Institution or Training Provider Registration and Re-registration Application forms and Guidelines.
