Key stakeholders in the development and implementation of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) will soon be made aware of the progress made towards bringing this instrument to fruition.
This will take place at the Barbados Accreditation Council???s (BAC) final Stakeholder Review NQF workshop entitled: ???Consultancy to Develop the National Qualifications Framework for Barbados???, on Thursday, July 17, at 8.30 a.m. at Almond Bay Caterers, Hastings, Christ Church.
The meeting will review the revised final architecture of Barbados??? NQF and allow participants the opportunity to discuss quality assurance, validation, prior learning assessment and recognition procedures and processes.
Also to be reviewed will be possible options for the management of a NQF and a training and change management process.
Participants will also examine recommendations made for an initial pilot project to ???test??? the NQF and procedures within one education sub-sector area, such as General Education, TVET or Higher Education. Feedback will be garnered on identified risk areas and possible mitigating strategies.
BAC is facilitating the design, development and implementation of the NQF which is one of the five pillars under the Human Resource Development Strategy 2011-2016 that is expected to enhance the quality of education in Barbados.
Consultants Dr. Armand Hughes-d???Aeth, Dr. Paulette Dunn-Pierre and Ms. Denise Murray-Beresford will facilitate the sessions and solicit feedback from participants.??This stakeholders??? workshop follows those conducted on February 22 and June 12.
