Educational providers offering post-secondary/tertiary education and training in Barbados, and who are not yet registered with the Barbados Accreditation Council (BAC), are encouraged to attend that organisation’s registration workshop at the Almond Bay, Hastings, Christ Church, on Wednesday, March 27.

The event, which runs from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., will provide those in attendance with the necessary tools for attaining recognition status by the Council.

It will be held under the theme: Preparing An Effective Self Evaluative Report for Registration.

By the end of the workshop, participants are expected to have an understanding of the registration criteria; know the requirements for an effective self-evaluative report by the BAC; be able to write effective evaluative statements based on the Council’s criteria for registration; and be able to prepare an outline of a self-evaluative report.

Registration is the first form of recognition by the BAC, and is important as it certifies that an educational provider meets or exceeds certain standards to operate in Barbados. In addition, providers seeking Institutional or Programme Accreditation must first be registered with the BAC.

Interested providers should register for the upcoming workshop by Wednesday, March 20.?? For further information the Council may be contacted at 436-9094 or via email at info@bac.gov.bb or by visiting the Secretariat at #123 A&B, "Plaza Centrale", Roebuck Street, St. Michael BB11080.

For more details on the registration service of the BAC, interested providers may log on to the Council’s website at www.bac.gov.bb and download the Institution or Training Provider Registration and Re-registration Application Forms and the Registration Guidelines.
