The Barbados Agricultural and Marketing Corporation???s (BADMC) Southern Farmers??? Market for December will run for an extended period this Christmas season.

The popular Farmers??? Market will be held at its Fairy Valley, Christ Church, location, from Friday, December 19, to Saturday, December 20; and from Monday, December 22, to Wednesday, December 24, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.

All interested farmers and vendors are asked to contact Kelly-Ann Gibson in the Agri-Business Department of the BADMC, at 428-0250/1 to book a space or for queries. The deadline for registration is Thursday, December 18.

Under the theme: Grow Local???Buy Local, the farmers??? market will feature a range of meats, including turkey wings and necks, minced meat, lamb and beef burgers, sausages, black belly lamb, local beef, pork and chicken.

Consumers will also have an opportunity to benefit from attractive prices on grated cassava and ready to cook cassava chunks, fruit juices, fresh milk and eggs, as well as local agro-processed products such as jams, oils, wines, sauces and marinates.

Local craft, jewellery, clothes, plants and flowers will also be on sale, and there will also be a BADMC Southern Farmers??? Market Christmas competition for the best dressed booth depicting A Bajan Christmas.

The public will also be treated to 100 per cent Bajan food, including ham, turkey, stuffing, jug jug, rice and stew and sweet potato pie.
