The Barbados Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (BADMC) has invited farmers to a meeting at its headquarters in Fairy Valley, Christ Church, on Wednesday, February 6, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Topics to be discussed include setting specific dates for farmers’ markets which are scheduled to take place from March to December, registering farmers for these markets since only those who register will be allowed to sell their produce, and how the BADMC proposes to partner with farmers to help drive their businesses.

Agri-Business Development Officer, Ian Eastman, explained that all farmers – from those operating on a small scale to those with large farms – were invited to the meeting.

"Come let us work together to cut out imports that can be produced by [local] farmers. I’m inviting all farmers in Barbados to meet with me and my team. We would like you to tell us what is on your mind," he said.

Interested persons may contact Mr. Eastman, Donna Turney, Wendy Brown or Sandra Miller at the BADMC at 428-0250 to confirm attendance.
