The Barbados Agricultural and Marketing Corporation???s (BADMC) Southern Farmers??? Market for August will take place on Friday, August 29, and Saturday, August 30, at Fairy Valley, Christ Church, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.

All interested farmers and vendors are asked to contact Kelly-Ann Gibson in the Agri-Business Department of the BADMC, at 428-0250/1, to book a space or for queries. The deadline for registration is Thursday, August 28.

Under the theme: Grow Local???Buy Local, the farmers??? market will feature a range of meats on sale, including turkey wings, minced meat, lamb, rabbit, lamb and beef burgers, sausages, black belly lamb, local beef, pork and chicken. Flying fish, frozen tuna and marlin will also be available at the market.

Consumers will also have an opportunity to benefit from attractive prices on grated cassava, ready-to-cook cassava chunks, fruit juices, fresh milk and eggs, as well as local agro-processed products such as jams, oils, wines, sauces and marinates.

Local craft, jewellery, clothes, plants and flowers will also be on sale during the two-day event, while free health checks for blood pressure, blood sugar, and Body Mass Index will be carried out by members of the Knights Advantage Club.

There will also be a 100 per cent Bajan food sale, including black pudding and souse, rice and stew and fish cakes.??All are invited.
