Farmers in St. Philip should soon have their supply of water enhanced to better support crops.

The start of this will come on Friday, April 30, when the Barbados Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (BADMC) turns the sod at River Plantation, St. Philip, to move the process along.

The groundbreaking ceremony gets under way at 9:00 a.m., and will launch the expansion of Brown’s Pond within this farming district, as a component of BADMC’s Water Augmentation Project.

This expansion effort aims to improve irrigation water supply to the farming community.

Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Indar Weir, and Minister in the Ministry, Peter Phillips, will be in attendance, along with other senior officials from the Ministry and BADMC. Minister Weir will deliver remarks during the groundbreaking ceremony.
