The Barbados Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation will be staging its May Southern Farmers’ Market, under the theme Grow Local Buy Local.
It will take place at the Fairy Valley Plantation House, next to the DHL Building, Christ Church, on Friday, May 24, and Saturday, May 25, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., each day.
New to the market this month is a fresh milk stall, where customers will have the option of buying or sampling the product.
Patrons will also have the opportunity to purchase local fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and meats.?? Jams, wines, sauces, fresh eggs, plants, craft and jewelry will also be on sale.??
There will also be blood pressure and blood sugar checks by the Knight’s Health Advantage Club, a schools educational programme and tour for schools and a play area for children.??
Schools interested in participating in the Educational Programme and Tour and farmers who would like to take part in the market are asked to contact Kelly Ann Gibson or Ian Eastman at 428-0250 by Tuesday, May 21.
There is no admission fee and the public is invited.??
