A bit of everything was on offer last Saturday morning in Independence Square, the City, as the Ministry of Tourism hosted its Bajan Pride Exposition, in celebration of World Tourism Day, which was observed on September 27.??

Linking Cultures – the official theme for the Day this year – was in full effect, with a kiosk dedicated to a range of cuisine from Grenada and Guyana.?? There was also live steel pan music, a landship performance, displays of handmade jewellery and accessories from local entrepreneurs, as well as a Natural Wines booth, which featured exotic flavours including breadfruit, bayleaf and soursop.

Patrons were also treated to jitney bus tours of Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison as a way of learning more about Barbados’ past and the significance of selected sites.

Bajan Pride Expos have continued to see success as a vehicle to highlight the talents of local artisans and expose Barbadians to the range of products they provide.
