This Sunday, March 21, the Community Development Department (CDD) will host its ‘Baje to the World’ finals from 7:30 p.m., as a free virtual production.

The virtual production will be available on multiple platforms to facilitate easy access to the show.  It will be carried live on CBC TV 8 and CBC Online, Baje to the World on Facebook, Trident 10 TV, Barbados Today and on Digicel Channel – D ‘Music and PlayGo Apps.

‘Baje to the World’ finals’ live virtual production will bring to a close the CDD’s 2019 talent programme, which sought to raise the profile of Bajan talent, as well as to expose and develop individuals and communities, while building and expanding harmonious relations across parishes.

The delay in having the finals was as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and related restrictions, and the department is excited to host the finals of the inaugural programme and encourages the public to tune in and support the finalists.

The 12 finalists are: Chad Bowen, Rebekah Carter, Trinity Clarke, Casheda Dottin, Anna Greenidge, Destinee Hunte, Dwayne Jones, Dario Piggott, Regina Ruck, Cindy Springer, Shekara Straker and Justin Taylor.

They will compete for the top prize of $10,000, in addition to a recording and marketing contract. Second and third place winners will receive $5,000 and $2,500, respectively, and all contestants will receive a participation award.

In addition to the live virtual show, viewers will have the opportunity to text and win a Samsung A51 cellphone with a five-month free 30-day Prime Bundle, in the Digicel sponsored ‘Baje to the World’ People’s Choice Competition.

Details on the competition will be posted on the ‘Baje to the World’ Facebook and Instagram pages.
