Farmers in Barbados will have another opportunity to showcase their produce when the Barbados Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (BADMC) stages another Farmers’ Market, tomorrow, Saturday, August 6.

It takes place adjacent to the Emerald City Car Park, Six Roads, St. Philip, from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The initiative is designed to encourage persons to consume more local fresh produce and to promote eating healthy nutritious foods at affordable prices. Locals and visitors alike will have the opportunity to purchase the best in local vegetables, fruit trees and ornaments, as well as food and drink. There will also be fish on display and a jumping tent for children.

Nurses from the Six Roads Polyclinic will be on hand to conduct tests for blood sugar and blood pressure, prostate cancer and HIV/AIDS. They will also immunise persons against tetanus and leptospirosis.

A number of prizes will be at stake, including the Minister’s prize of one mist blower and the Chairman’s prize of a selection of agrochemicals.
