Banking issues in Barbados will take centre stage during the Barbados Trust Fund Limited’s (BTFL) next Let’s Talk Entrepreneurship Talk Series & Online Forum, to be held on Tuesday, April 19, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Banking Woes – Exploring the Difficulties of Banking in Barbados, is the theme of the discussion, which will be co-hosted by Toni Thorne and Stephanie Chase. The panel will include officials from the Ministry of Energy and Business Development, Fund Access and a Business Banking Manager from a leading financial institution.

Some of the topics to be examined are: the challenges being experienced while banking in Barbados; difficulties associated with opening a business bank account; the roles of business development agencies in readying entrepreneurs for corporate banking, and the changes needed to positively impact the financial industry.

During the online forum, viewers will also obtain a snapshot of public opinion on the banking sector through one-on-one engagements with business owners and the BTFL’s “Man on The Street” – Akhnaten Burrowes.

In addition, the stories of local small businesses will be shared during the one-hour programme, including that of BTFL’s entrepreneur, Michelle Johnson of Utopia Blends, who will be highlighted in the Chasing Your Dreams segment. Also to be featured as an innovator to watch in the future is Nicholas Hurley of Salt Life Media.

The Let’s Talk Entrepreneurship Talk Series & Online Forum will be streamed live via YouTube: Trust Loans BarbadosInstagram@barbadostrustfundltd and Facebook@Trust Loans Barbados.  Persons may share their comments live online with the panel or WhatsApp their questions to 228-3275.

There will also be a Let’s Talk Entrepreneurship Watch Party on Tuesday, April 19, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., at Jacklean’s Variety, Wildey, St. Michael.

Interested persons are encouraged to attend to watch the show as it is live streamed. Food and drinks will be on sale, as well as product sampling by BTFL clients.
