It’s not too late for persons wishing to play their part in the formulation of a new education policy for Barbados.

According to Administrative Officer (Research Planning and International Relations Unit), Cyril Burke, “the National Advisory Committee on Education (NACE) is still accepting written documents from the public.”

Explaining that while the town-hall meeting phase of the consultation process was concluded, Mr. Burke pointed out that persons wishing to make an input “were still free to do so”.

Written submissions may be hand delivered or posted to the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development, “Elsie Payne Complex”, Constitution Road, St. Michael. Submissions may also be sent via email at nace.moe@gmail.com.

Topics covered at the town hall meetings included: coeducation, substance abuse and negative subcultures, discipline in schools, education for students with special needs, teacher professional development, support services in schools, violence in schools, integration of information and communication technology in education, curriculum and nation building, the structure of the education system and student transfer from primary to secondary school.
