Barbadians from all walks of life converged in the East Wing of Parliament Buildings today, Thursday, October 28, to pay their respects to former Prime Minister, the Honourable David Thompson.

Governor General Sir Clifford Husbands was the first to pay his respects to the late Prime Minister at 9:30 a.m. and offer condolences to his wife Mara, children, Misha, Oya and Osa-Marie and other family members.

He was followed by Government Ministers, Members of Parliament, Senators, members of the Judiciary and members of the Diplomatic Corps.?? At 11:00 a.m. members of the public filed in to honour their former leader.

Tomorrow, Friday, October 29, the body of Mr. Thompson will lie in state at the Combermere School, his alma mater, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.?? The following day, Saturday, October 30, members of the public will have the opportunity to view his body again at the George Street Auditoruim, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Viewing will continue on Monday, November 1, at the St. John Parish Church from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m and again on Tuesday, November 2, in the East Wing of Parliament from 9:00 to 5:00 p.m.

The State Funeral for the late Prime Minister will be held on Wednesday, November 3, at Kensington Oval, Fontabelle, St. Michael at 9:00 a.m.
