Regarding strengthened bilateral ties, the Foreign Minister said: ??????We also want to work on our bilateral relations. We have had some discussions on a double taxation agreement [DTA] and we are still interested in that. We believe that the model that we use incorporates information exchange and we see the signing of a DTA as beneficial to both of us.???

The two officials also discussed tourism and its contribution to the respective economies and the feasibility of sharing best practices.
Barbados and Turkey established diplomatic ties in September 1972.
