The important role played by medical technologists in the diagnosis and prevention of diseases will come into sharp focus next week, when their association hosts a number of activities.
The week will begin with divine worship on Sunday, September 26, at the New Dimensions Ministries, Barbarees Hill, St. Michael, starting at 8:00 a.m.
The public will get the opportunity to learn more about the range of tests offered at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Pathological Laboratory), the Winston Scott Public Health and the Barbados Reference Laboratories, during open days at these facilities on Monday, September 27, and Tuesday, September 28.?? The open days will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., each day.
The following day, Wednesday, September 29, there will be a lecture on Lymphomas in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s Auditorium, from 10:00 a.m to noon.
It will be a time of fun and merriment, when the fraternity hosts a lime on Friday, October 1, at Casa Grande Hotel, Oldbury, St. Philip, starting at 9:00 p.m.
The activities will culminate with a dinner at the L.V. Harcourt Lewis Training Centre at the Barbados Public Workers’ Cooperative Credit Union Limited’s, Belmont Road, St. Michael, headquarters, on Saturday, October 2.?? It will commence at 7:00 p.m.
Medical Laboratory Technology is a branch of medical science that is responsible for performing laboratory investigations to facilitate the diagnosis of diseases, as well as the implementation and monitoring of therapies to treat diseases.??
