The opening of a new restaurant at the Accra Beach Hotel has been hailed as a celebration of the region???s culinary culture.

So says Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and International Transport, Senator Irene Sandiford-Garner. She made this observation during the official opening of the Accra Deck restaurant at the Rockley, Christ Church, resort last Wednesday.

Senator Sandiford-Garner said the island continued to distinguish itself in the tourism marketplace as a culinary destination with the staging of the fourth edition of the Food, Wine and Rum Festival, slated for November.

???This showcase gives locals and visitors the opportunity to sample the creations of celebrity and local chefs and I am pleased to say that this event has grown from strength to strength each year,??? she stated.

In commending Accra Beach hotel on its achievement, Senator Sandiford-Garner urged the staff to maintain the best quality assurance standards at all times.

???I, therefore, implore the staff of this new restaurant to always give of your best by providing the highest standard of service. What distinguishes a tourism destination from others is the level of service that you offer to visitors and I am sure that many of you can attest to this,??? she underlined.
