Rescue simulations and basic CPR training will be among the activities held when the Barbados Fire Service (BFS) hosts a community fair on Saturday, October 1, at the Bush Hall Community Centre, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Under the theme: Resilience, Reconnecting, Renewal and Retooling, the fair will bring a climax to Fire Service Week which runs from September 25 to October 1, and kick off Fire Prevention Week which gets underway from October 2 to October 8.

The community fair will start with an official opening ceremony at 10:00 a.m. which will be addressed by Chief Fire Officer, Errol Maynard.

During the day, persons will also be able to participate in a spelling bee competition and a trivia game and observe demonstrations on the use of the fire blanket as well as other fire-fighting equipment.

Additionally, there will be a children’s corner with story-telling with Benny the Fire Cat and an opportunity for persons to win prizes.
