Barbados has another five confirmed cases of Influenza A (H1N1).This brings the total number of confirmed cases here to 10.????

The latest affected persons include two men ages 25 and 35 years respectively, two women who are both 31 years of age, and a 12 year old girl.??

According to the Ministry of Health, "all the affected persons are receiving medical care and are currently under isolation."??

The Ministry has assured that it will continue its enhanced surveillance at the ports of entry and will issue weekly updates or as the need arises.

The public has been reminded that practising good basic hygiene is the best way of preventing or slowing the transmission of the virus.

Persons who are experiencing symptoms of influenza are urged to call their doctor or the nearest polyclinic for advice.
