Travellers to Barbados will be required to complete the new online Embarkation/Disembarkation (ED) form prior to arrival, when the island resumes for commercial travel on Sunday, July 12.

Persons may log on to www.travelform.gov.bb and complete and submit the online application form at least 24 hours prior to travel.

After submission of the form, they will receive two receipts via email – one for customs and the other for immigration. These receipts may be printed, or saved to a mobile device, and presented to authorities at the airport on arrival or departure.

The information requested includes travel history, contact information and health screening to complete the risk assessment process for COVID-19, to ensure the safety of visitors and Barbadians during this time.

The introduction of the online ED form is one of many initiatives being implemented by Government, towards a digital transformation of public sector services, to improve operational efficiencies and the ease of doing business for Barbadians, visitors and potential investors.

It is important for countries to develop digital platforms as they navigate the unprecedented effects of the COVID-19 global pandemic which demands that they become more resilient and agile in implementing solutions to protect the health and well-being of citizens.

Through the introduction of the online ED form, Barbados is able to offer travellers to the island a solution that will allow for a smooth, safe, and contactless transit through the Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA).

This initiative was spearheaded by the Ministries of Home Affairs, Tourism and International Transport, Health and Wellness, Innovation, Science and Smart Technology, along with GAIA Inc. and the Immigration and Customs Departments.

The Airline Association, the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., the Royal Barbados Police Force, the Central Bank of Barbados, and the Barbados Statistical Service also served as supporting partners.
