Barbados is ready to deepen its bilateral relationship with the Republic of Serbia.

This was revealed recently during a meeting held in the margins of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly where the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados, Senator Dr. Jerome Walcott, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, discussed cooperation in the areas of tourism, sports, higher education and information and communication technology.

The relationship between the two countries was formalized in 1977.

Minister Selaković informed that his country had started to manufacture COVID-19 vaccines and was in a position to assist Barbados in the fight against the pandemic.

Barbados took a significant step to consolidate the relationship when on September 6, 2021, Permanent Representative of Barbados to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, Chad Blackman, presented credentials to President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksander Vučić.
