This country???s Minister of Tourism and International Transport, has reaffirmed Barbados??? reputation as a safe destination for tourists who come here for the perfect getaway.

Minister of Sealy made this suggestion recently while addressing a press conference to update the media on upgrades to the popular South Coast party spot ??? St. Lawrence Gap.

He acknowledged that there were instances of crimes against visitors, but was quick to point out that they were solved very quickly by the Royal Barbados Police Force.

???Crime against visitors is something that occurs very rarely. Although it happens from time to time, most cases are solved very quickly so we do have that reputation that we want to maintain,??? he added.

The Tourism Minister further stated: ???It is important that the police are equipped to do what they have to do. We have a network of CCTV???s and improved lighting that will give them [the police] the information they need to solve those cases quickly. We are hoping that the [criminal act] does not occur [but if they do] the improved lighting, facilities and patrols would help [in solving any crimes].???
