Barbados will be represented at the Fifth Pan-Commonwealth Forum on Open Learning scheduled to take place from July 13 to 17 in London, United Kingdom.

Minister of Education and Human Resource Development, Ronald Jones, along with Project Director of the Higher Education Development Unit, Dr. Patrick Rowe, will be attending the forum which is aimed at exploring the use of open and distance learning in the widening of educational access.

The forum, which will be held at the University of London’s Bloomsbury Campus, also seeks to advance the social and economic development of communities and nations at large. In addition, the event will explore how open and distance learning can help achieve international developmental goals and education for all, with a focus on children and young people, health, social justice and governance.

Participants in the forum will represent the Commonwealth, European and international institutions as well as agencies which are active in the field.
