Regional scientists involved in HIV monitoring and international experts in the field will participate in the upcoming Caribbean Cytometry and Analytical Society Caribbean International HIV/AIDS Workshop to be held in Barbados from August 26 to 31.

According to CCAS Secretary, Namrata Sippy-Chatrani, “the workshop was conceived in 2004 to meet the urgent need for the Caribbean to expand the technological expertise needed to fight against AIDS”.

The aim of this year’s workshop is to strengthen the Caribbean network of laboratories, train as many persons in the region as possible and inform decision makers about the new technology available and laboratory best practices.”

It is expected to attract 150 persons, including delegates, resource persons and diagnostic vendors.
